An old character of mine brought into the Buffyverse. Partner to Lisa Stall (not like that, pervs) and all around awesome swordswoman. I decided to make a post-Chosen version of her.

This is my first Angel RPG character. She is a crossover character with the Buffy RPG (Sorcery quality) but it's in a highly reduced capacity compared to her Sunnydale counterpart. While the total bonuses for magic are higher on this one, the other one has more raw power backing her up. If Sorcery wasn't allowed, I'd move Pyrokinesis up one level and Occult Library up two levels.

This is pretty much my first Buffy RPG character. It's not quite what I had in mind, but that's because I realized a little late that the power I wanted is actually part of the Angel RPG, so I'll make another version or three of her when I get home. This White Hat version is 16 years old and, in theory, attends Sunnydale High or your local high school of choice. I'm not sure on all the calculated values (I really only glanced through combat, and it's been a year since I did the cover-to-cover read of this book).

I think I'm going to start using this journal to create characters in. Maybe I'll get a name change done on it to make it less specific. Who knows.

For now, I'll just link you to the memories of characters past, some of whom may undergo revisions and repostings in the very near future.

Well, once again, there is the possibility that the game that was chronicled in this journal may resume. This would be cool, but I'm wondering where the hell it's going to fit in my schedule. :-p I have a schedule of doom. Seriously. Other schedules see my schedule and quake in fear.

But, we'll see. [livejournal.com profile] griffonisrex IM'd me and told me that stuff was starting up again, so now I just have to call [livejournal.com profile] templar_rose and make him schedule on a day I can actually do stuff. :-p And preferrably not an every week deal like it was before. That got a wee bit overly insane (to put it lightly).

So, who knows, Lisa Stall may yet live (well, okay, be undead) to play another night.

Well, it would seem that there is a reprieve in the air for this journal. [livejournal.com profile] templar_rose has indicated that game will be starting back up. It will be a smaller crowd, but it will be there. He's given me my invite and other invites will be going out. No more out-of-control games of doom.

So far, I'm bringing back Lisa Stall and Deirdra Smith/Morrighan. I will probably bring back Miranda, but I'm not sure. Bei-Ling and Arishayar are on hold for now.

White Wolf released Gehenna this week. I am going to The Underworld in Ann Arbor to see if they have it today. Thus begins the "End of the World" as we know it. We ([livejournal.com profile] satyr_mi and myself) will complete our World of Darkness collections and see where things go from there. I'm not sure I will care to continue purchasing WoD material with the revamp they are doing. Just from reading excerpts on White Wolf's official website I can see that they are continuing their trend of steamrolling a storyline over their customers. If this were graphic novels or plain old fiction I wouldn't care, but when you pull this shit in an RPG it pisses me off.

It's something that has been avoided, although not completely eliminated, in Dungeons & Dragons products. Then again, they have story changes when they change game editions. Seeing as how Advanced Dungeons & Dragons is just now on 3.5 (which did not contain major story changes in all reality) after how many years? White Wolf has a bad habit of making major game-world changes with every book, or at least every hard-cover, that comes out.

Now, you might (and I know some of you will) say, "Oh you don't have to use it if you don't like it" to which I respond "Bull-fucking-shit!" What, I'm allowed to ignore such ass-backwards things as the Avatar Storm, which while having a perfectly valid "story line" reason for existing was put in purely to break Mages in a way that they cannot recover from. You destroy the usefulness of the Spirit sphere (because any power which crosses the Gauntlet, even in a sensory fashion, subjects the Mage to damage from the storm) and thereby cripple 1/9th of theme and tone of the game-line. And how 'bout that Ravnos bit, which, by the way, I'm guessing is how ALL the Vampire Clans are going to get it shortly. Go read the previews on White Wolf's website if you don't believe me. It's spelled out in neat little black and white letters. Of course, this portion of my rant may be amended upon reading the book, but who knows.

The kicker is that the stuff in Gehenna happens regardless of the players actions. It even says in the book that the players cannot prevent it from occuring, so let them spend all the XP they have and, basically, "put their affairs in order". You lose the tone of a horror game when you tell the players "there is no way for you to survive or win or stop this". All good horror has a "ray of hope" regardless of the eventual outcome. Really good horror plays it to the fullest before destroying the characters.

So. Now we get to see how everything falls into place. Only time will tell if it was worth it.

Oh, look. A sappy splash page on White Wolf's website. Excuse me while I vomit.

[livejournal.com profile] templar_rose assures me that game will be starting up soon again. It's going to be a smaller venue than previously. Hopefully we don't wind up with 20+ players again. That would just suck. And, no folks, this ain't a LARP. :-p

The general gist of events is that a couple months have passed and some chaos occurred in the form of several waves of Sabbat packs attacking the city. This has lead to quite the shake up and confusion and will allow for characters to disappear, if they are not returning, without making a tremendous production or liability of said event. Due to my work schedule, I may cut back the number of characters I have in there. Probably cut out Arishayar and Bei Ling as principles with the option of them showing up if someone needs them. Lisa, Miranda, and Morrigan are more central and necessary. And, damnit, I want to finish Morrigan's story!

So, just a quick shout to let everyone know this journal isn't dead (in the literal sense) yet!

Due to circumstances beyond our control (read, franplosion 2003), game has been temporarily delayed. I missed a couple sessions, and now Fest is in effect and the ST actually works at Fest on Sundays, so game is on hiatus. Hopefully to return soon.

I'll try to be good about updating this more! ~_~

...

I just realized I did not write a game update last week.

DOH!

Um. Ok. Two week summary it is. Not that any character could get an IC summary for this as it was far to schizoid.

This is a new Discipline being developed by Lisa. Ultimately it is focused on examining and breaking various mystical and mundane bonds. It has the potential to be a little too powerful, so may get some toning down in testing. Lisa has developed the first power in the Discipline

When I first started in the IK chronicle, I was, for all intents and purposes, a Vampire Virgin. I did not care for the system, wasn't interested in playing politics, and in general knew zippo about the sourcebooks. Therefore, Lisa, a 173 year old Kindred with the Childe of Etrius wrapped around her finger, was created as something of a Neonate. I think I gave her like 40 freebie points or some such.

This version is created with a slight alteration of the Elder character creation rules in "Elysium". For starters, "elder" backgrounds are not used, other than "Age" of 1. Lisa started at 8th Gen with an exemption from spending points on it from the Storyteller.

So, without further ado, I present to you Lisa 2.0.

I'm not doing in-character updates for everyone else. No real need to. Arishayar did not have any scenes, Lisa's scenes were fairly small. Miranda and Bei Ling both got some fun time in, but not enough to justify an In-character journal.

My flight into Detroit Metro was a bit behind schedule, so I didn't wind up landing until about 18:00 local time. Jet lag is a total bitch, let me tell you. Made it to the Hotel in Ann Arbor I'm staying at until my assignment package comes in and dropped off my luggage. Need to arrange a house or condo to store my less campus-friendly materials.

Dear M,

It is with great regret that I must inform you of the passing of the Cappadocian, Alexander. His behavior had grown increasingly erratic of late, demanding to be allowed to see his sword so he could speak with it, and claiming to have visions of death and destruction at the hands of the Ravnos named Plunkett. As time wore on, his babbling became less and less coherent and he was refusing to leave my haven, despite having a very nicely furnished condo in Ann Arbor where he could pace and rant and rave in peace.

I allowed him to come in and speak with his mentor (apparently, he believes his sword to be posessed by the spirit of his long-dead sire) and he seemed mollified by his discussions with his mentor. He said that he was ordered by his mentor to go to the city of Brighton to seek out Infernalists. I decided to follow him because, as far as I was aware, there was no real Kindred presence in that town.

Alexander managed to lose me at some point, but I did find that a small Camarilla presence was set up in the area. They seemed to be constantly at odds with mortal Hunters and Lupines, however. Certainly not a safe way to conduct one's existence. Alexander came to introduce himself to the Prince and one of the advisors, perhaps a Primogen, became very agitated by Alexander's presence. Hiding myself where they would be unable to see me, I heard her tell the Prince that Alexander's aura bore the tell-tale marks of Diablerie!

It seems that the Prince's favorite consort, a Kindred of some beauty, had disappeared recently and was feared slain. Incensed, and perhaps slightly insane as it were, the Prince ordered a Blood Hunt on Alexander. Unfortunately, he did not survive the night.

Do you think anyone at the Chantry has any use for one posessed sword and one formerly posessed sword which may be a conduit for demonic magics?

Oh, and I finished that write-up on the ethics of Blood Magic Rituals at Birthday Parties you requested.

Oh, and Apprentice Kiera needs new robes. Whatever she was wandering around in was far too flammable.

Oh, and that silly neonate you told me to play with has yet to find me. I think you need to give him a leash or something.

Cordially,

L.

Once again, it was a hodge-podge session with very little detail for any of my characters. This is ok. Other people got stuff done, and lots of cool stuff happened.

Lisa - Went around Helsing collecting blood. Gotta love Tremere rituals. Also spoke briefly with Margarette about trying to find her daughter. Told her that her source would begin looking within a couple days to see what she can find.

Lisa's blood collection method was via the Tremere ritual which enchants an object to exchange a quantity of blood.

She just ghouled the entire mortal (and slightly non-mortal) population of Helsing. :-p She also collected a lot of Kindred vitae in the process.

Another thing to note, which I must write up the how's and why's of it, is that Lisa has now gone down to 6th generation. A certain someone admitted they are never coming back, so Lisa ate him. Well, his character at least.

Miranda - Was all Matrixy and whimsical. Made a bitch-queen-dancer a total klutz for a day and saw Diana have weird code float around her while she danced.

Bei Ling - Passed out flyers for free Jello Shots at Club Helsing and was, in general, a highly amusing foxy lady.

Arishayar - Randomly walked around drinking coffee and reading newspapers.

I've spent the last several days staring at my computer screens, trying to make heads or tails of the research projects that Lisa has given me. First it was a listing of guys in the family who went to particular colleges, then it was finding out everything and anything about this random UofM chick, then she wanted decorating tips for baby boomers. The hell?

Miranda is in a seeking for the next two game sessions now. Very cool.
